Everything You Might Be Wondering About Adirondack Elopement Planning
Not at all! While we’ve worked with many couples who love hiking—some even new to it—it’s not a requirement to enjoy the beauty of nature for your elopement.
We believe nature is for everyone, whether you’re excited about a 10-mile trek or prefer to exchange your vows at a scenic overlook you can drive right up to.
There are countless breathtaking locations that only require a short walk, and many are easily accessible by car.
Absolutely! If having your loved ones with you is an essential part of your day, we’d love to help find the perfect spot that’s both beautiful and accessible for your group.
Our packages are designed for up to 15 people, as many of these stunning locations are best suited for smaller gatherings.
However, we’re happy to discuss options if you’re planning for a larger group! Let’s chat and find the best fit for your vision.
No need to wait—reach out as soon as you’re ready! We can set up a relaxed planning call to talk through your ideas, answer any questions, and help you get a clearer picture of your day. It’s a great way to explore your options and find inspiration for what’s to come.
The first step is to head over to our contact page and send us a message! Once we hear from you, we’ll schedule a call to discuss your ideas, answer any questions, and make sure we’re the right fit for your day. After that, we’ll finalize a date, and to secure it, we’ll need a deposit and contract. Then, we can dive into the fun part—planning your perfect elopement!
Eloping can be as planned or as spontaneous as you’d like it to be! We recommend booking once you’re confident this is the way you want to celebrate. Most couples typically book 6-18 months in advance. For our busiest months—August, September, and October—we suggest booking at least 9 months ahead to secure your preferred date. That said, we’ve helped couples plan elopements in under two weeks, so anything is possible!
Absolutely not a problem! Many couples who inquire know they want an elopement and work with us at the beginning of the planning process to nail down exactly what they would like for their day.
Nope! While we specialize in the Adirondacks, we’re experienced in capturing elopements all across New York State. From the stunning waterfalls of the Finger Lakes to the beaches of Lake Ontario, and the breathtaking Catskill Mountains, we love helping couples create unforgettable moments in beautiful locations beyond the Adirondacks. If you have a spot in mind, chances are we’ve either been there or can’t wait to explore it with you!
The definition of “Eloping” is very much outdated in our opinion. We are here to help YOU redefine it! Courthouse walls and the idea of “running away” are things of the past, why not choose the walls of a cliff and a running river instead!? We are here to help you celebrate this beautiful next chapter of your lives leading into it by doing anything and everything that will bring you both joy. No outside opinions, no one to feel the need to impress, in the end, it’s about the marriage, not the wedding.
Yes! While we are based in New York state and specialize in the Adirondacks, we do work all over the east coast and beyond!
We provide an ordained officiant and witnesses, so all you need to bring is your marriage license. We’ll take care of the rest to make your ceremony legally official!
Anything you wish, however, if you are choosing to go with a more “traditional” style of a gown or suit, we have a few options!
1. If you are planning on a more intensive hike, we highly recommend a trusty pair of hiking boots and some comfortable clothes! We can supply the micro-spikes depending on the weather conditions and give you an extra hand with your gowns or suits for once we reach the destination!
2. If your ceremony location is an easy hike in, and if you are okay with getting a little dirty, you can feel free to dress before you arrive and we can grab some badass photos of you traversing through the woods!
If you are fellow outdoor enthusiasts like us, chances are you will have some gear on hand, we will let you know what we are planning on bringing and you can absolutely bring your own!
Hey, if you’re bold enough you could get changed right out in the open, but don’t worry we wouldn’t make you! We have a pop-up changing tent that we set up for you tucked away near your ceremony spot!
- When nature calls we’ve got your back, well not literally, but a sturdy tree can help with that! A “cat hole”, aka, a 6-8 inch hole dug into the ground 150 feet away from water sources, campsites, and trailheads can be prepared with a trowel, your hands, or a stick. Combine that with some “TP” and you are golden! This is the go-to for non-winter hikes! Clean waste WAG Bag or Biffy Bags are the go-to for frozen grounds! We are firm followers of “Leave no trace” so we can help keep the Adirondacks as beautiful tomorrow as they are today! Our team is always prepared with a trowel and toilet paper if necessary! You can however bring your own if you don’t feel up to asking us, but it is good to know if you need it, it’s there! Just so you know, we aren’t too mature to have a good ol’ poop conversation! Here is a helpful video in case you want to know “how to go” in the woods!
Bugs are not preferred guests at your elopement, we get it! Perks of winter elopements, they won’t be hanging out! However, if you are leaning more towards spring or summer, just know there will be less of them once we’ve reached the summit, and even less if it has been around three days without rain! We’re always prepared with some bug spray, just in case they get extra pesky!
Our officiants will be in contact with you to customize and personalize the words that will be read during your ceremony! They happily will recite any meaningful readings or poems, or if you want to keep it totally traditional, they’ve got that covered as well!
Yes, you can! Our officiants are non-denominational officiants, but if your religion is something you would like included in your elopement, we recommend reaching out early to those you have in mind and ask them if they are up for an adventure!
We aim to be as flexible as possible, and we aren’t just talking about yoga poses! We will work with you to have a backup plan that will be equally as amazing as the original plan!
We don’t want you to be left hanging! You’ll receive a sneak peek within 72 hours of your elopement, and your full, edited gallery will be ready within 5 weeks—often even sooner! 🙂
There’s nothing that we love more than a pup-of-honor! If your dream elopement wouldn’t be the same without your dog, we can make it happen!
