Raquel and Frank’s stunning snow covered elopement in Lake Placid had been a long time coming… like, 23 years in the making. These two first met in high school, quietly crushing on each other from afar but way too shy to make a move. Instead, they stayed friends for over two decades (yes, really), until life finally nudged them in the right direction. Honestly, worth the wait.
This trip also marked their very first time in the Adirondacks, and they fully committed to the winter vibe they had always dreamed about. They had their hearts set on that classic snow-covered look, and the ADKs absolutely delivered. We lucked out with one of those perfect crisp days – right around 30°, fresh snow still clinging to the trees, soft light everywhere, and that peaceful winter quiet the mountains do so well.
The aesthetic of the day? Snowy trees for days. It’s one of our favorite Adirondack looks, and it showed up big time for these two.
After their ceremony and a few more portraits among the snow-covered trees, we snuck them out into a frozen lake that brought a whole different kind of magic to the day. And the best part? Before we even wrapped things up, they were already talking about coming back to the Adirondacks!
Raquel and Frank’s snow covered elopement was sweet, full-circle, and proof that sometimes the best love stories take the scenic route. Huge congrats to these two and their long-awaited, very ADK debut!
