Kate + Luke // Adirondack Winter Elopement

Kate and Luke’s love story is as adventurous as their Adirondack winter elopement! They knew they wanted a celebration that truly reflected them, and their intimate ceremony on a frozen lake, with the mountains as their witnesses, was exactly that. They braved the cold wind with smiles and laughter, making the most of every moment. And the sunset we witnessed on our hike down was the cherry on top of an already incredible day!

Congratulations, Kate & Luke. What a joy it was to capture your love!

P.S. Planning an Adirondack winter elopement? The snow capped beauty comes with the reality of cold temperatures and unpredictable weather. Traditional wedding dresses aren’t designed for warmth, but you can still be stylish! Take a cue from Kate and rock an all white winter jacket (or snowsuit!) Hats, gloves, layers and insulated boots are must-haves.

And don’t fear a winter hike, snow smooths out rocky terrain, making for a more gradual trek. The most important gear? Micro spikes—these grip the ice and keep you steady on the trails. Plus, you’ll warm up quickly while hiking, so wearing layers that you can adjust is key. Expect to shed some on the way up and bundle back up at the summit. In our opinion the magic of a winter elopement is totally worth the extra preparation it requires!
